Meg is originally from Atlanta, Georgia, where she attended Woodward Academy and graduated with honors. Meg obtained her B.A., with departmental honors, from Auburn University, where she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority and Psi Chi Psychology Honor Fraternity. Meg moved to Texas to pursue her legal education and graduated with her Juris Doctorate from Texas Wesleyan University (now Texas A&M School of Law). Meg is licensed in all State and Federal Courts in Texas and, in 2009, she was sworn into the Bar of the United States Supreme Court. Meg has been a Texas Super Lawyer "Rising Star" several years running and is also a member of the prestigious College of Equine Attorneys She is currently a Partner at a Dallas based litigation firm (where her docket includes catastrophic injury defense, farm, ranch, and equine law, and intellectual property) and an adjunct professor of intellectual property law at a local university.
Meg has been involved with horses for over three decades competing in many different arenas from dressage to rodeo and everything in between. She and her event horse, Joker, were a part of the USEA (then USCTA) Area III Young Riders program and competed through the Intermediate level. At Auburn, she and her team chartered the now NCAA National Championship winning AU Equestrian Team, an experience that sparked her love of reining. In 1999, she represented her home state of GA in the Miss Rodeo America Pageant in Las Vegas during the Wrangler NFR. And, in 2015, she and her palomino reining horse, Timber Zak, won a World Championship in the Sr. Reining. Meg is also a U.S. Pony Club graduate "B," serves as a National Examiner for the upper level program, and was inducted in 2013 to the USPC Academy of Achievement, an honor bestowed on outstanding Alumni. Since law school, she has been active in advocating for equine assisted therapy programs for the physically and mentally disabled, serving both as a volunteer, legal advisor and board member with various organizations.
Meg began her entrepreneurial endeavors in 2016 when she began a virtual franchise with an internationally ranked prestige beauty company. She quickly rose through the leadership ranks to sit among the top 2% of the company within two years. She currently manages and coaches a successful international team in the US, Canada, Australia and Japan. The past years have ignited a passion for helping other women with entrepreneurial vision realize their potential and create a life they love. In 2019, she was invited to work alongside the company's philanthropic leadership team in a mentorship program for underprivileged youth.
Meg resides in Fort Worth, Texas, with her husband Jared, son Charlie, and rescued Basset Hound, Penny. Jared works as a Certified Financial Planner at a national registered investment firm. Charlie is active in ice hockey and plays for the Dallas Stars Elite AAA Hockey Club.
She is planning to pursue her Ph.D. in Psychology to expand her service porfolio through Jury and Witness Consulting for civil and criminal litigation.
